Silly plots, awful puns, saucy jokes and rude songs! What’s not to enjoy. I have a dubious sense of humour, so it’s usually best not to take my word as gospel, but it is a very good burlesque series with a fine cast. Hudd’s Holmes, ‘the world famous toffee-nosed ponce’, is marvelously infuriating and I actually enjoy a lot Emmett’s (slightly over-the-top) Watson. Geoffrey Whitehead’s a curmudgeonly Prof and June Whitfield a first-class Mrs H.
